China Condemns CIA Over Espionage Recruitment Campaign

(MENAFN) On Wednesday, China sharply condemned the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), once highly regarded, accusing it of flagrantly breaching fundamental principles of espionage by recruiting foreign nationals for spying missions, according to state-controlled media.

The Chinese Ministry of State Security charged the CIA with persistent attempts to suppress China through ongoing intelligence theft, infiltration, and sabotage operations targeting Beijing.

"Recently, the US Central Intelligence Agency posted recruitment videos in Chinese on social media, brazenly recruiting Chinese nationals to engage in espionage activities. These painstakingly crafted 'job ads' lay bare the absurd logic and paranoid delusions of American intelligence agencies," stated the ministry.

Last month, the CIA rolled out a social media video campaign targeting China, depicting Chinese officials allegedly switching allegiances and leaking confidential information to the United States.

In response, the Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a forceful rebuke against the CIA, accusing it of "openly inciting" Chinese citizens to defect, and vowed that Beijing would take all necessary measures to firmly counteract the "infiltration and sabotage" efforts orchestrated by foreign anti-China forces.

The Ministry of State Security further asserted that these actions grossly violate core international relations norms, destabilize global order and trust, and have solidified the CIA’s status as a long-standing "notorious enemy of the international community."

According to the ministry, China’s national security agencies—backed by widespread public support—have dealt devastating blows to the CIA’s espionage networks within the country in recent years.

"Any 'traitors' or 'moles' recruited through such public means will inevitably be exposed by China’s national security authorities and face the righteous judgment of the law. The CIA will naturally sink deeper into the quagmire of failure," the ministry warned.
